Stormy scores 13th-place finish in Rumble by the River finale at Port Royal
On Thursday evening Stormy Scott was one of 55 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries on hand at Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pa.) for the three-day Rumble by the River. After sitting out a weather delay, Scott logged an eighth place outing in his heat race, sending him into the B-Main for another shot at the opening night feature. Failing to place in the Top 2, Stormy was granted a provisional into the show. With $10,000 on the line, Scott improved one spot in the 30-lapper to place 23rd.
With continuous rain and an unfavorable forecast wiping out Friday night’s event, Stormy returned to the half-mile oval on Saturday afternoon for the $15,000-to-win finale. In a field of 52 cars, Scott edged his way into the main event with the third and final transfer spot in his heat. Rolling off 15th, Stormy marched forward two spots in the 50-lap affair to register a 13th place finish.
