Scott lands seventh-place finish in North/South Shootout at Florence

On Wednesday afternoon Stormy Scott visited Florence Speedway (Union, Ky.) piloting his Rancho Milagro Racing No. 2s Late Model for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) sanctioned Ralph Latham Memorial. In a stout field of 53 cars, Scott followed up the tenth fastest time in his qualifying group with a fifth place finish in his heat. Needing a second place finish or better in his B-Main to make the $12,000-to-win A-Main, Stormy came one spot shy with a third place outing.

For the North/South Shootout on Thursday evening, Stormy timed in fifth fastest in his group before placing second in his heat behind Josh Richards. With $10,000 on the line in the feature, Scott clawed forward three spots in the 50-lapper to register a seventh place finish.

With a pair of heat races on Friday afternoon setting the grid for the North/South 100 on Saturday, Scott jumped up one spot in his first heat to finish fifth. After Mother Nature shifted the second round of heats to Saturday afternoon, Stormy logged an eighth place finish, transferring him into the B-Main. Failing to place third or better, Scott was granted a provisional into the $50,000-to-win Sunoco Race Fuels North/South 100. Rolling off 26th, Stormy Scott was an early retiree from the 100-lap affair on lap 56.
