Stormy Attends Lucas Oil Reopening Tour at Golden Isles Speedway

On Tuesday night Stormy Scott headed to Golden Isles Speedway (Brunswick, Ga.) to kick off the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) Reopening Tour. With 43 cars on hand for the Optima Batteries Golden Isles Nationals, Scott followed up the 12th fastest time in his qualifying group with a ninth place finish in his heat. Transferring the Top 3 from the B-Main into the opening night feature, Stormy logged an eighth place outing.

The following night for another $7,000-to-win A-Main, Stormy came in seventh in his heat before placing 10th in his B-Main. Earning a provisional into the show, Scott completed a few laps before retiring early from the 40-lapper. (Heath Lawson photo)

For the final round of the Golden Isles Nationals on Thursday, Scott fell one spot short of a transfer position in his heat with a fifth place finish. Streaking to a 10-lap consolation victory, Stormy locked into the 17th-starting position for the $7,000-to-win A-Main. Gaining four spots in the 40-lap affair, Stormy Scott notched a 13th place finish.
