Scott Brothers Attend DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park
Both Stormy and Johnny Scott were back in action on Tuesday night at Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Florida) for the 49th annual DIRTcar Nationals. Stormy followed up the third fastest time in his group with a 3rd place finish in his heat while Johnny suffered a flat-tire that dropped him back to an 8th place finish. Needing a 2nd place finish or better in his B-Main to make the $7,000-to-win A-Main, Johnny posted a 7th place outing. Stormy dropped two spots in the 30-lap feature to record a 16th place finish.
On Wednesday evening for the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series sanctioned program, Stormy followed up a 4th place finish in his heat with the 2nd and final transfer spot in his B-Main. Johnny came in 6th in his heat before placing 4th in his consolation event. With $10,000 on the line in the feature, Stormy slipped back to a 27th place outing after slowing to draw a caution on lap 26.
For the fourth round of the 49th annual DIRTcar Nationals on Thursday, Johnny scored a 5th place finish in his heat while Stormy recorded a 7th place outing. Johnny went on to lock his spot into the $10,000-to-win A-Main with a 2nd place finish in his consolation event behind Mark Whitener while Stormy slipped back to a 4th place finish. After sitting out Friday night’s program due to rough track conditions, Stormy and Johnny returned on Saturday for the final round of the 49th annual DIRTcar Nationals. Johnny came in 9th in his heat before logging a 13th place outing in his B-Main. Stormy followed up an 8th place finish in his heat with a 9th place outing in his consolation event.
