Stormy Scott scores a pair of third-place finishes in Texas Dirt Nationals
Stormy and Johnny Scott were in action on Friday afternoon at Texas Motor Speedway (Fort Worth, Texas) as the inaugural Texas Dirt Nationals got underway with a $10,000-to-win preliminary feature. After his 16.291 second lap in time trials earned him the fast time honors, Stormy posted a second-place finish in his heat. Johnny came in eighth fastest in his group before placing second in his heat. Starting in fifth, Stormy gained two spots in the 25-lap feature to place third. He followed Cade Dillard and Billy Moyer across the line with Brandon Overton and Bobby Pierce rounding out the Top-5. Johnny was collected in a tangle that saw him depart on lap 18.
On Saturday, Stormy outdueled Johnny in his eight-lap heat race to lock into the pole for the $50,000-to-win A-Main. After leading the first two circuits, Stormy notched another third-place finish in the 30-lap finale. He trailed Brandon Overton and Bobby Pierce to the checkers with Devin Moran and Michael Arnold rounding out the Top-5. Johnny was an early retiree on the fifth circuit of the feature.
