Stormy Scott notches Top-10 finish in North/South 100 at Florence
Both Johnny and Stormy Scott were in action on Thursday afternoon at Florence Speedway (Union, Ky.) for the Sunoco North-South Shootout. With 46 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries on hand for the $10,000-to-win preliminary feature, Stormy placed third in his heat while Johnny secured his spot into the show with the fourth-and-final transfer spot in his heat. Stormy was an early retiree from the 50-lapper with 11 laps remaining while Johnny passed two cars to finish 13th.
On Friday afternoon with a pair of heat races on tap, Stormy posted a second-place finish in his first heat while Johnny trailed him across the line in fourth. After sitting a lengthy rain delay, Stormy came in sixth in his second heat while Johnny finished seventh.
Transferring into the B-Main on Saturday for another shot at the $50,000-to-win North/South 100, Johnny edged his way into show with the third-and-final transfer spot while Stormy elected to take a provisional into the show.
Wheeling his way into the Top-10, Stormy passed 15 cars in the 100-lap affair to reel in an impressive ninth-place finish. Johnny was an early retiree on lap 71 after suffering a flat tire on lap 53.
