Scott Brothers Racing attend Lucas Oil opener at Golden Isles Speedway
Both Johnny and Stormy Scott returned to action on Thursday evening at Golden Isles Speedway (Brunswick, Ga.) as the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) kicked off the 2022 slate with the Super Bowl of Racing. In a field of 47 Late Models, Stormy followed up a fourth-place finish in his heat with a third-place finish in his B-Main. Johnny’s night was over after he followed up a sixth-place finish in his heat with a ninth-place finish in his consolation event. The following night, Stormy came in fourth in his heat while Johnny finished sixth. Failing to finish in the Top 2 in their B-Mains, Stormy was granted a provisional into the A-Main. With $12,000 on the line, Scott raced forward eight spots in the 40-lapper to place 17th.
For the finale on Saturday, Stormy finished sixth in his heat while Johnny placed seventh. Needing to place second or better in their B-Main to make the $15,000-to-win A-Main, Stormy finished fifth with Johnny coming in sixth. Stormy went on to take a provisional and pass six cars to register a 20th-place outing.
