Stormy eighth in MLRA Spring Nationals at Lucas Oil Speedway

With Mother Nature hampering Johnny’s weekend with the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series, Stormy Scott hopped behind the wheel of his Eagle Moon Hemp No. 2s Late Model on Friday for the two-day Spring Nationals at Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.).

In a stout field of 48 Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA) entries, Scott followed up the sixth-fastest lap in his qualifying group with a third-place finish in his heat. With $5,000 on the line in the feature, Stormy faded to finish 16th in the 25-lapper.

For Saturday’s $10,000-to-win Spring Nationals finale, Stormy’s second-place finish in his heat race placed him on the fourth row for the feature. Carrying a steady pace in the 40-lap affair, Scott recorded an eighth-place finish.
